Objectives
The course provides participants with specialist knowledge of research ethics, gives them space to reflect on their values and attitudes as researchers and allows them to practise skills in dealing with conflictual situations in their research practice. The participants acquire knowledge of the rules of good scientific practice and train their skills in making responsible decisions in everyday research.
Contents
The content and scope are based on the DFG memorandum and the guidelines of the respective universities/institutions to ensure “good scientific practice”:
- Good scientific practice
- Scientific misconduct
- Data and quality management
- Authorship and publication process
- Supervision, mentoring
- Dealing with conflicts and scientific misconduct
- Ombud system
- Case studies
- GSP resources
Demand
Live online course workshop with short presentations, case discussions, exercise, individual and small group work, plenary discussion, expert talks. Files and links will be made available after the event.
Own computer with fast internet access, camera, microphone and loudspeakers. If possible: cable LAN and headset.
