September 9-20, 2013 at TU Berlin

organized by the Berlin Mathematical School and the SFB/TR 109 "Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics", Alexander Bobenko and Boris Springborn.

This summer school combines various current research topics in geometry, topology and applications that are characterized by a close interplay of smooth and discrete aspects.

A diverse program of short introductory lecture series will treat subjects ranging from polyhedral surfaces, Teichmüller theory, 3-manifold triangulations and hyperbolic geometry over integrable systems and statistical models to image processing and geometric modeling.

The summer school is aimed at graduate students in mathematics. Postdocs and junior faculty are also encouraged to attend.
