Applications for studies at the BMS for the academic year 2014/15 will be accepted from 15 September 2013 until 15 May 2014.
The deadline for applicants interested in a scholarship ended on 15 December 2013.
Please note: the second round of the application phase will begin on 28 February 2014 and applications will be accepted until 15 May 2014. No more scholarships will be available in the second round of the application phase!

First download our BMS PhD Application Guidelines and read them thoroughly before beginning the online application process. You will find the answers to your questions in there, or in our FAQs, or here on our website.
Students entering Phase I of the BMS are expected to have a bachelor degree, or equivalent. (Thus, in particular, Berlin mathematics students in their "Hauptstudium" can apply for membership in BMS. For students who are further advanced, part of the Phase I course requirements may be waived.)
For entering Phase II, students are expected to have a master degree, or to pass the BMS Qualifying Exams. (In particular, they thus satisfy the regular admission requirements of the Berlin universities' PhD programs.)
The BMS TOEFL code is 2593!
The academic year is made up of the winter semester and the summer semester. Lectures in the winter semester 2014/15 will start in October 2014 and last until February 2015. Lectures in the summer semester 2015 will start in April 2015 and last until July 2015.
