Berlin Mathematical School Summer School 2010 on:

Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics

The aim of this summer school is to give PhD students and post-docs an introduction to Discretization in Geometry and Dynamics and to explore the latest developments. Topics range from integrable discretizations, polyhedra and tilings to symplectic and variational integrators, discretization artefacts and applications.

The Summer School is aimed primarily at graduate students in mathematics. Furthermore, postdoctoral and young researchers are also encouraged to attend. For participants with children of up to 6 years, there will be day care opportunities.

Course material and schedule with a list of speakers will be available early summer 2010.

Online registration will be available starting February 2010 until 30 June 2010. Applications for the Summer School have to include a letter of interest, CV and one recommendation letter. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2010. The BMS offers subsidiary financial support to selected participants to cover travel and accommodation costs for the Summer School.
