at HU Berlin 

The Summer School will give an introduction to the broad area of mathematics related to Moduli from various points of view such as algebraic geometry, number theory, and mathematical physics. Confirmed speakers of the Summer School include Jean Benoit Bost (Orsay), Gerard van der Geer (Amsterdam), Carel Faber (Stockholm) and David Smyth (Harvard).

The Summer School is aimed primarily at graduate students in mathematics. Furthermore, postdoctoral and young researchers are also encouraged to attend. For participants with children of up to to 6 years, there will be day care opportunities.

Course material for the introductory lectures will be available in early summer 2009.

The Summer School will be followed by a Conference on Moduli from August 24-28, 2009. More information about the Conference can be found on the Conference website: http://www.mathematik.hu-berlin.de/moduli

Applications for the Summer School have to include a letter of interest, CV, and one recommendation letter. 
Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2009. The BMS offers subsidiary financial support to selected participants to cover travel and accommodation costs for the Summer School and the Conference. Registration for the Summer School includes Conference Registration. Please indicate in your application if you do not wish to attend the Conference.
