The BMS openly and explicitly welcomes and embraces diversity:
in terms of gender, national origin, religion, ethnic background, sexual orientation, disabilities, chronic illnesses, or any other difference issues that may be important. It actively strives to create an environment that welcomes diversity, facilitates the exchange of new perspectives, and creates a respectful, accepting environment for life in Berlin, for work at the universities and institutes, and for research and teaching.
The BMS committee on mentoring, gender, and diversity will watch over the whole BMS process, from advertising and recruiting, through Phase I and Phase II studies, to graduation. It will make suggestions and implement measures for diversity management, and thus help to make the BMS an accepting, liberal, and supportive environment for its students, faculty, and members |
