Berlin Mathematical School - Graduate School in Mathematics

For each of the seven teaching areas there are two one-semester basic courses (4 hours/week) with well-defined contents that define the knowledge and skills that any student pursuing advanced work in this area should have. Students will need to pass final exams after each semester that are designed to verify that the students actively master the contents of these courses at a working level. All basic courses will be taught every year. They will be accompanied by tutorial classes (2 hours/week) and homework problems.

Below please find a selection of Advanced Courses for the summer semester 2010. If the class you plan to attend is not listed, please check with the BMS Office if it qualifies as an Advanced Course.

All workshops take place in the BMS seminar room at the TU (MA 212) and usually last the whole day, i.e. about 8 hours. As a rule we have a limited number of 12 participants.

Summer Semester 2010:

1. Team Dynamics and Leading Teams (2 days workshop) on
April 24 and 25, 2010, fully booked! We have a waiting list.

2. Writing mathematics workshop (2 days workshop) on
June 11 + 25 , 2010 (13.00 - 16.00).

3. Applying for jobs and positions in English (2 days workshop) on
June 12 and 13, 2010.

4. Communication skills/conflict management (2 days workshop) on
July 10 and 11, 2010, fully booked! We have a waiting list.

Outlook for the winter semester 2010/2011:

1. Intercultural training: Germany for the experienced and newcomers (1 day workshop) on
October 12, 2010.
