Student and Research Fellowships
The International Mathematical Union, the Einstein Foundation Berlin and the Berlin Mathematical School invite applications from PhD students and researchers from developing countries for research visits in the active Berlin mathematics research environment! Research visits can last between three to nine months.
Funding for the IMU Berlin Einstein Foundation Program (EFP) will end in 2014. Hence applications will only be accepted until 31st March 2014!
The selection committee will meet for the last time in April 2014 to review the applications and award fellowships.

The research statement should explain the research project you intend to pursue in Berlin and should list the Berlin mathematicians with whom you would like to collaborate. Prior contact is not necessary. Please check our Research and Faculty websites for ongoing research activities.
PhD students will receive a monthly stipend of 1,350 Euros. Postdocs can expect 1,500 Euros per month. More senior researcher will receive an allowance sufficient to comfortably meet local expenses. Travel costs (return tickets to/from Berlin for economy flights or equivalent) will be reimbursed after arrival in Berlin. Costs for return tickets should not exceed 1,500 Euros.

The BMS provides help in obtaining health insurance for the time of your stay as well as in finding accommodation.
