The BMS Committee (formerly know as Executive Board) is responsible for all structural, scientific, and financial decisions. It represents the BMS, controls the BMS budget, issues the BMS Certificates of Excellence, participates in final decisions about admission, and implements measures of quality control. The Chair is responsible for managing the day-to-day and executes the decisions made by the BMS Committee. The BMS Chair and his deputies act on behalf of the BMS, especially towards the participating universities and the German Research Foundation, and represent the BMS externally. They act as the representatives of the three institutions in the BMS and coordinate the activities of the BMS with the dean of the respective departments and with the presidents of the respective universities.
The One-Stop Office supports the BMS students in all practical issues that may arise, ranging from travel, visa, housing, language courses, and bureaucratic issues to child care, music and sports opportunities.
