The BMS encourages students (both in Phase I and Phase II) to attend mathematical conferences! To help you do so, BMS will cover registration fees and travel costs for one conference over the course of Phase I, and one conference per year during Phase II.

The BMS funds trips to conferences outside of Germany only if you are actively contributing to the conference by giving a talk, presenting a paper or similar activities. The reimbursement will be restricted to tickets to the venue, accommodation for the duration of the conference and conference fees if applicable. We are not able to pay per diems to cover living expenses.

We ask students who receive funding from BMS to conferences to include the BMS logo on their presentation slides, posters or publications. Please also use the conferences as an opportunity to present the BMS.
