The Executive Board is responsible for all structural, scientific, and financial decisions. It represents the BMS externally, controls the BMS budget, issues the BMS “Certificate of Excellence”, participates in final decisions about admission, and implements and executes measures of quality control. The Chair is responsible for managing the daily business and executes the decisions made by the Executive Board. The BMS Chair and his deputies act on behalf of the BMS, especially towards the participating universities and the German Research Foundation, and represent the BMS externally. They act as the representatives of the three institutions in the BMS and coordinate the activities of the BMS with the dean of the respective department and with the president of the respective university.
The One-Stop-Office supports the BMS students in all practical issues that may arise, ranging from travel, visa, housing, language courses, and bureaucratic issues to child care, music and sports opportunities.
